We adore this set, the cups and plates are painted metal and the cakes are heavier than you might expect although I'm not sure what they are made of but they have a nice 'heft' to them for a miniature item. At first glance online you might think they are painted sloppily? But in person they are perfectly charming with an artistic flare. Absolutely adorable and a treasure.
